uSwitch and MoneyGuru Brazil

When it comes to business, country lines are no barrier to successful ideas spreading – especially when it comes to saving consumers money.

The launch of MoneyGuru

Business success across the world is something that British entrepreneur George Milford Haven discovered how to do back in 2014 when he founded MoneyGuru, one of Brazil’s leading price comparison sites.

Based in the heart of the action in the bustling Brazilian financial centre of Sao Paolo, MoneyGuru provides citizens with the chance to save cash on their energy bills by finding better deals which cost them less.

The site is believed to have scored over £10million in investment, which means the future is looking bright for the site. There’s also a strong team in place in the Sao Paolo offices, most of whom are young and ready to cope with the demands of working in a difficult but rewarding sector.

And with partnerships struck between the site and major Brazilian banks such as Bradesco and Itaú, the market out there is already desperate to get in on the MoneyGuru action.

It’s not just about saving cash

And it’s not just the opportunity to switch that MoneyGuru provides, either. George Milford Haven’s site also brings Brazilian consumers news about the industries they use on a daily basis, so the site keeps them informed and empowered as well as saves them money.

MoneyGuru is intended to stimulate competition within the market, too. Before the price comparison site model developed by George Milford Haven and others existed, many companies were able to carry on providing an expensive service as their customers rarely left them.

But now that people know how to move between firms, companies have to do more to keep their clients – and that means lower prices and better services.

The idea has worked before

This wasn’t the first time George Milford Haven had seen success with the price comparison model. A cousin of Queen Elizabeth II, this British businessman was also the founder of the popular British price comparison site uSwitch.

uSwitch was one of the very first price comparison sites to break out into the mainstream in the UK.

Launched amidst a raft of deregulation legislation from the British government, uSwitch took advantage of the newfound ability of consumers to switch providers easily by giving them the information they needed to finally make the decision.

George Milford Haven is believed to have sold uSwitch for over £200 million to US giant EW Scripps back in 2006, proving that the market loves a model like this. But now, he’s back on the scene and ready to bring the same benefits to the consumers of Brazil.

MoneyGuru’s excellent leadership George Milford Haven

George Milford Haven is a leading British entrepreneur with a track record of success.

He’s a man of many talents: not only is he a top businessman, he’s also a keen polo player responsible for creating the Trippetts Farm polo centre in West Sussex.

And as well as developing uSwitch in the UK and MoneyGuru in Brazil, George Milford Haven has also been responsible for a wide range of price comparison sites in countries all over the globe – particularly in emerging markets.

He also invested in Turkish price comparison site EnCazip, which helps Turkish consumers cut down on their energy prices.

George Milford Haven and his colleagues also provided lots of guidance and training to the team out in Turkey, demonstrating that investment in knowledge is a key factor in helping a company eventually see success.

Now, it looks like the same thing will be happening thousands of miles away in Brazil. Under the principled and experienced leadership of George Milford Haven and the team he has put in place, it’s likely that MoneyGuru is going to revolutionise the utilities sector in Turkey just as it has done elsewhere.

  1. The idea of uSwitch as a price comparison website is very good, it is normal that George Milford Haven, Vip Amin and Andrew have decided to export it to countries like Brazil and Turkey.

  2. I hope MoneyGuru will be as successful as uSwitch in the UK. It’s great to be able to compare prices so easily.
